I would like to use a rim fire snap cap to dry fire. These .22 rim firers are only hit on the rim. How many times can one be used? When do you know they are used up? Thanks Ron

I’ve been using the plastic ones for awhile but only use them for releasing firing pin spring tension. Not sure how they’d hold up to sustained use.

Just save a bunch of your fired .22’s and use those for snap caps.

I’ve done that and occasionally there is still some unburned priming compound in that part of the rim not hit by the firing pin.  So it might make a mild crack.  You could soak them in water for a few hours and then let them dry if that might be a concern. More of a surprise than a concern.
