I need some quick help regarding the 1935 Winchester firearm retail sales catalog.

I am looking for the retail price of the Model 69, both the 6901 and the 6902 in 1935 (first year they ere offered).  I also need the publication date of the 1935 catalog (probably early January).

If anyone has a catalog and can look up that info for me I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks!

Jeff,

First, I do not have a 1935 catalog. Second… Did Winchester actually publish a 1935 or 1936 catalog? I have not yet found any reference to catalogs for those years. If they do exist, I would also like to get a copy of them.

Hi Bert,

Yes, they made a 1936.  I have the 1936 catalog dated 1/2/36 and Houze references the 1935 as the first catalog in which the Model 69 was offered so I am pretty sure it exists also, I just can’t find anyone that has one.

I will scan my 1936 catalog for you when I get home in February.

Stoeger’s Shooter’s Bible pretty much mirrored the retail prices published by Winchester, if anyone has the 1935 Stoeger’s Bible at least that would be a start.

Bert,

Also, I do have a nice original copy of the 1940 pocket catalog which would be perfect except some idiot named Ad Topperwein scrawled his name inside…… oh, wait, that name sounds vaguely familiar…….ConfusedLaugh

Best Regards,

Shocking case of vandalism, but a Q-tip moistened with bleach will probably make it go away.

Jeff,

That is great news about the 1935 and 1936 catalogs… two more to add to the reference files.  Did you check with Abby at Cornell?

Yes, Abby has always been very helpful.  She has a scan of the 1936 catalog but not the 1935.

If the 1935 catalog was easy to find I would not be asking here…….Wink
