OK Thank You. Is there a down side?

Just trying to find one.  It will have to be a clean up barrel.

I have a couple 2nd models with really good 24 3/8 barrels and one with a poor receiver and stocks, and I am looking at a 1st model that has had the barrel shortened so it may be worth making the change if it’s doable.

Make sure the lettering is the same on both barrels, if it’s not it’s a waste of time as it’s an easy spot for not being correct. If you don’t have a copy of Ned Schwings book on the 1890-1906 rifles, it’s a great investment if you are going to collect 90’s. The 90’s went through lots of changes during the entire production run.
