OfflineI have a couple 2nd models with really good 24 3/8 barrels and one with a poor receiver and stocks, and I am looking at a 1st model that has had the barrel shortened so it may be worth making the change if it’s doable.

OK Thank You. Is there a down side?
Make sure the lettering is the same on both barrels, if it’s not it’s a waste of time as it’s an easy spot for not being correct. If you don’t have a copy of Ned Schwings book on the 1890-1906 rifles, it’s a great investment if you are going to collect 90’s. The 90’s went through lots of changes during the entire production run.
