I am going to assume that you are actually referring to a Model 1866 Musket, not a Model 1886 ?

It is imperative that you post a link to clear detailed pictures of your Winchester.

Is there an original post that is missing?  Last I knew Winchester did manufacture 1886’s in a musket variant.

The single picture does not contain enough detail to adequately evaluate and assess your Model 1866.  At a minimum, (3) pictures per side (front to back), and clear pictures showing the factory markings on the barrel, the sights, and the butt plate.

This is a good example of how to pictorially present your Model 1866 Musket – Winchester 1866 “Yellow Boy” MUSKET .44 Cal for sale (gunsinternational.com)

  Swilson,

I was to the Tulsa Show a few weeks ago, saw 5 for sale from $3,500-7,000.  None as nice as yours and I’m pretty sure they went home with the seller. 1866 muskets are not very popular with 66 collectors. The saber bayonet is a neat feature so I would say yours is worth $7,500, but a slow sell. Your gun has nice wood and metal and would be worth a lot on a carbine.
