Where do I go looking to see how many 1885 low wall 15″ “short rifles were made?
Silly question…
To better answer your question, are you asking about the number of “Lightweight” Carbines, or just the “Rifle” variant with a 15-inch barrel? Do you have a serial number?

Just the 15″ rifles, I don’t know the ser# it is 44 cal.
I have (18) low-wall rifles documented with a 15-inch barrel and in 44 WCF. Nearly all of them were exported to Australia and marked “THE STINGER“.
The serial number is needed to verify the originality of the rifle you found.
