OfflineHenry do you either of these books:
Or Don Klanchers book:
Arms Accoutrements of the Mounted Police 1873 1973
The 1866 1873 1876 book by Pirkle also has a list.
What is the serial number you want to look up?
Chris

OfflineHenry, unless Don has passed away recently I believe I have his email. Send me a PM to remind me to find it when I get home.
Don can tell you if it was or wasn’t purchased by NWMP. Even if its not published in his or Yearout’s book, which maybe the case. Of course I believe he charges a research fee for his time to do so.
Sincerely,
Maverick

I got it and it is not a “mountie” gun how ever it does have some unique Canadian history. Thanks for the reply
Don considers himself a historian, and rightly so. He’s not just an expert on the NWMP but lots of other historical related topics i.e. Enfield Revolvers, Badges, Metals, etc. He has over 9,500 artifacts from his collection that was given to the Royal Alberta Museum (RAM) in Edmonton. He’s a good researcher and I would imagine if there is more to uncover about your firearm, he very well could do it or help out with it.
Sincerely,
Maverick
