In reference to the 1876. Some refer to a half magazine and some a button magazine are they the same interchangable terms or is there a difference?
As always thank you for your knowledge

Hello,

The different terminology refers to the same magazine length which extends just beyond the end of the metal fore end cap. The rounded "button" magazine cap versus the flat cap found on full length magazines probably gave rise to the term.
