I’ve had that chart for some time, It is very expensive chart to fill.

I can imagine. Do we know for sure (verified somewhere?) that some of those are actually “1 of 1”? Good luck with that!

ARMAX is a Buffalo Bill Historical Center publication. I’d bet one of the researchers went through the available records in the archives.   Finding the rifle is the issue.

That will be a labor of love, that hunt!

Adding to the difficulty is that many of the rifles with longer than standard barrels have been found cut down to a more manageable length.

Ok, I’ll bite. Here is a nice ’73 I picked up in Cody. Although the 32 Cal. usually isn’t as appealing as a large bore would have been, I really like the case-hardened frame and early graduated peep. Most CC ’73’s I come across are deluxe guns. This rifle also has a trapdoor butt, normally not found on a 32 Cal. rifle.

Congrats!

I also like the nice high condition 73! I’m especially fond of the thick base tang sight!

Thanks for sharing,

Tony

Gary, I like it a lot.  Put another sight on the front and you would have a very nice mid range target rifle.  Ben probably has a Lyman or a Beech.

Very nice score, Gary! No complaints from me on the 32, truly a wonderful little cartridge.

I really would have thought an astute collector such as yourself would have noticed all the tang sights that mysteriously vanished from your guns at the last few shows. I learned to be really fast with my Harbor Freight screwdrivers.

Thanks for the compliments, fellows.

Beautiful ’73, Gary.  I didn’t see the rifle.  Guess you were afraid to show it to me.  I did see the ’76 1/2 and 1/2.  What a score!  Until next time, my friend.

I want to see it lying next to a pile of dead Prairie dogs!  And Yes, it needs to have a nice Beach front sight on it.

This is my newest PD rifle…

Bert,

That’s a nice example. Can’t wait till you post some “chucks” next to it! Smile

Looks like you’re getting her dialed in!

Tony-

I think he’s very close to MOGR (Minute of Ground Rodent) at this point but we know he’ll be tweaking it a bit to ensure clean kills. As you know those critters may charge when wounded and we certainly don’t want that for our fearless club historian! OTOH video of the incident could be entertaining. Just saying.

No “chucks” in my part of the country… but I do have Whistle Pigs.

Gary, can I come to your house and “barrow” a few of those sights sitting lonely on the shelf?  They really need to be put to good use… there are so many naked guns out there and you should share!  🙂  Having seen your “gem” in person, photo’s don’t do it justice…and how you obtained it is absolutely proof that good things happen to good people.
