Shoot up all you can, Roger! When I die I hope my ungrateful heirs have to deal with a bunch of empty brass and well used guns, and I hope most of them will need cleaning. They won’t have any idea what to do with all the loading and casting equipment so some lucky soul will get a bargain.
Come to think of it, I think I’ll gather up an old Winchester or two and go deposit a few “heirloom” bullets in the bank, so to speak. We can’t take it with us, might as well enjoy it while we can.

I’m in the San Jose area of CA. I just bought some shotgun shells thru my gun club and I had to show two picture IDs and a copy of my “Certificate of Eligibility” to satisfy the state law. I also have a bunch of collector ammo, including 25-20 W.C.F., I would like to sell and am stuck with it.So much for my plans to “sell the stuff” after I retire. This has become the norm and I guess a lot of my goodies will end up being destroyed instead of being passed on. Will make it even more rare! 219 Zipper, 50 Exp., 218 BEE, 405 Win., 25-35, 22 W.R.F., etc.. A real bummer! Roger B
Roger,
I recommend contacting Wards Auction (up in Oregon)… he can legally take all of the vintage ammo you have and sell it for you.

Roger, I bought a box of rifle ammo yesterday. All I had to show was my driver’s license and then sign the form that goes electronically to the state. But..I was also picking up a shotgun that had just cleared the 10 days in jail. I think if you buy modern guns and ammo somewhat frequently you establish a record with the state and purchases might become easier? Hopefully this law gets thrown out AGAIN.
I think I would either have to move out of Cal. or start a revolution, preferably the later. I gotta wonder what Sam Houston would think of the carrying on’s of the Cal. gov’t

CA is a beautiful place. I think we ought to invade and kick out all the socialists.

“Hard to find ammo”… this past weekend’s local news here showed empty shelves at gun shops. “Hard to find ammo” now includes .30-06, .308 and .30-30. One shop owner interviewed said they hadn’t had a box of .30-30 ammo on the shelf since April. They added they hadn’t had a box of buckshot on the shelves since March. For many guys who don’t stock up at all, their hunting plans are in jeopardy.

For quite awhile I haven’t seen any of the Winchester ammo for sale. I don’t know if they aren’t making it or if they are and it just sells out? Someone said there is a primer issue. I know for sure finding match grade primers is a big hassle.
Match grade primers? I’m seeing and hearing that almost all primers are a big hassle. For months, boxes of 1000 primers on gunbroker are seeing winning bid prices of about five times the normal price. First, it was small pistol and small rifle seeing very high panic-buying prices. Now, large pistol and large rifle are right in there as well.
