Ya mine is 1887 I had a feeling it would be hard to find
Jim, is the 1887 the serial number? My sporter is 14368. Made in 1902. Do you have Eugene Myszkowski’s book?
I will be in Colorado Springs this weekend. I usually see Fred Wardinsky in Denver. He collects these. 406) 431-8677. [email protected] RemembertheMaine.com
Jim Curlovic 618) 806-4777. Another person to talk to.
No that is the year of my gun my serial number is 7646 and no I do not have that book I found this gun in a gun shop in a pile of junk it did not work correctly but that is fixed now because somebody put it together wrong I couldn’t see this gun laying in a pile of junk.
Did you ever contact the 2 individuals I gave you info on?
These guns were in an ever changing environment all through production. I have sporter and a military musket. There is not much info on these to be found.
Jim, I have been thinking about your gun. Can this be a military stock you really need. I don’t believe the sporters were made in your serial number range. This serial number is in the 1st Navy contract range. Maybe you knew this and just like the sporter like I prefer.
