I’m constantly perusing various sources for a “good lead,” and am not sure what the policy is for posting “For Sale” listings…but I saw this in a local classified publication generally from private individuals. This is NOT my ad, and I have absolutely NO connection with, of knowledge of it, and these are not even the items I am interested in. However, I have experienced some great “finds” in the past when investigating & following-up on these types of listings. If anyone is interested I will send the link:
“I am selling a portion of my gun collection. I have a variety of firearms available. No junk. Pre-64 model 70’s, both standard and featherweight. A few supergrades both pre-64 and post. Model 64’s, 71’s, 94’s. M1 Garands, German Mausers, JC-Higgins model 50 and 51’s, etc. Also have some nice S&W pre-lock revolvers, several west german Sig p-230’s, etc. Many others. Inquire with your needs or wants.”
Bert would have to make the decision if cutting and pasting other peoples ads onto this site is appropriate. Up until now its been people selling their own guns or occasionally alerting the members to guns on another site like GB or GI but that does not happen to often.

That’s why I didn’t include the link. Hope I’m not doing anything wrong…just a “head’s up” courtesy to fellow collectors of a good/bad/unknown listing on another site.
I’ll include PM link only until end of today, then I’ll consider my message/posting “Closed”. This will hopefully be my good deed for the day.
Thanks,

Thanks for the prompt clarification Bert. I’d feel good if someone “scored” a nice addition (or two…) to their collection.
It wasn’t too awfully long ago I followed-up on an obscure listing for one (of the many) types of items that pique my attention. I really didn’t need to have another one, but it was local, & curiosity had the best of me. So I made an appointment, & off I went…cash in pocket & C&R in hand. In short, it turned out to be the incipient stage of a HUGE private collection consigned to a 3rd party (Yes, I know this sounds too good to be true!). I was one of very few afforded the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view virtually EVERYTHING before it was advertised, taken to shows, sold online, etc. Needless to say, I bought the original item I had gone to see…then made several return trips after mustering every available $ I could afford (except the rent $). There was truly some fabulous stuff I wish I could’ve afforded, as well as stuff I really didn’t know enough about (at the time). After doing some research, I later watched some of their sales & realized I “fumbled” on a few “gems.” Oh well… I’m very fortunate to have had the opportunity!

Here ‘ya go folks…
Thanks Bert,
