Just to help Burt out on this, the 44 WCF accounted for just 15.2% (2,300 rifles) of the total Model 53 production (15,118 rifles), and of that number, it is estimated that just over 600 of them were 44 WCF Take Down rifles. Not exactly rare, but very uncommon. However, in the graded condition this rifle is in, I would put it in the “rare” category.

Burt,
You (and everyone else) is welcome. I do this for no purpose other than my deep desire to learn everything that I can, and then pass it along to anyone who is open-minded enough to listen. I do this because I want to learn as much as is humanly possible.

p.s Nice Trout!!! The biggest trout I ever landed was a 4-salt Steelhead that weighed 28 lbs.
