I had a look. There’s some interesting pieces. I’d sure want to look at them in person. I had questions about the originality of many. Some were obviously not original and others… the photos weren’t the best so I just couldn’t tell. Among the Winchesters, what caught my eye the most was the M1886 SRC. There was a Savage M1899 takedown rifle with fancy wood that also really stood out to me.

Steve you peaked my interests with the 86 src. It waned quickly tho from the ONE picture of it. the stock looks either heavily sanded or replaced. Your thought on this.

Tom – I certainly have my doubts about it. It does look sanded at the upper tang. And what do you suppose the chances are that the engraving on the receiver will letter? It would be interesting to look at. Or at least see a group of photos of the quality that Austin or Craig show with their auctions.

Steve I agree with you about the engraving. Common sense says it is not factory, of course I’d be hard pressed to be tell the difference any way. I Don’t think they will see much online bidding with the one picture.
Thanks for the insight on that item. We have had many requests for additional pictures and will post/reply to all soon. Also the sale will be entirely live streamed and each item will be able to be looked at closer, when they go on the block. Wish you all could attend live!
