Don’t think it spent much time in anyone’s duck-blind.

Never seen one anywhere near that condition, Burt. Thanks for showing us what a nice 1901 is supposed to look like!

Mike – these have always been hard to find, especially with condition. I would like to have a checkered Model 1887. I don’t really think that many collectors are interested in them. I bet Bert likes them – John Browning design you know!

Burt,

That’s one fine Model 1901 shotgun!  The only thing going against it is that it’s not an antique.  I would be interested except I can’t have everything I want and am in the process of acquiring a nice Model 1894 short rifle.

You have a very good eye!

What is the chamber length? Is ammo available? Are reloading components available?

If you search you can find everything you need.  If you are not an experienced loader I would recommend you buy “light” loads, maybe even black powder.  The case length is probably 2-7/8″.

Here’s an example that highlights to me, the fine deal Burt is offering on his M1901:

And another one Rock Island had, very similar condition but I don’t know the final value price:

Burt –

This one would have been a nice addition for you – you could have had a matched pair of a standard grade and a deluxe grade in similar condition:
