New to the forum. Picked up a saddle ring carbine very nice even patina and bore is cleaning to good. What I am looking for is a new finger lever that will latch. The original lever is in good condition it just won’t latch. It hits the trigger safety then the backend won’t latch like it is sprung. The rifle is tore down so I can’t  show pictures to what I am describing. Thanks for help.

Take the lever and put it into a padded vise like the picture below and then bend on the front of the lever with a small pipe or crescent wrench a little at a time and keep trying the lever in the receiver until it works. It will yield in the finger loop area since its the thinnest. Best case is it works and worst case is you buy another lever. If you want to replace it I would go on Ebay and get a original lever.

Like I said, You have nothing to lose trying to bend it back. The only issue with buying one is if it fits up right or the cam is worn down and your lever sages.
