This is the first of three rifles I will post for sale:
1894 – octagon barrel, 38-55, serial 69,xxx
This rifle is likely the finest condition of the three I will list. It is an early, pre-1899 1894 in 38-55 caliber.
I am certainly not a pro photographer but tried to highlight each area of each rifle in natural light. I am happy to jump on a video call with anyone interested to get into further details. All rifles have their birth certificate and are above average to excellent quality. I am not qualified to rate the bluing but know it is higher end for each of the generations. The wood is excellent in quality and fit. The barrels are very clean.
A price is not listed at this point because I honestly have no idea what the market is. With your knowledge, I would appreciate an honest estimate and price that would be good for both parties if you are interested in this for your collection.
Please PM or respond to this message with any questions.
Do You have a picture of the “birth certificate”, or factory search info, an like was said a few better closeups of the metal, both side,s top and underneath, ser# etc.,and wood to metal fit?

jetdriver21,
You asked for current value. Based on the pictures I’m assuming everything not shown is correct, the pictures are over exposed making the finish look slightly worse than it is, and that they letter as shown.
At the April Tulsa show I did a pre-purchase inspection on a 1894 oct 38-55 similar condition and serial number, nice gun. It sold for $4500 and I thought it was well bought under the money.
I own a first model raised thumbprint round barrel 1873 with most of the case on the butt plate and more blue. I value mine at $15,000, it is a nice gun. With that said it is my opinion yours is worth $12,000.
As to your 1873 first model oct 1873 it appears much nicer than the other one, has an oct barrel but is not a early raised thumb print gun. Setting a value would require many good pictures showing condition. So my guess is very wide, $8,000-15,000.
These are the personal opinion of a gun show guy with poor pictures, not auction prices. T/R
Thank you for the replies and estimates.
I have done a bit of my own research and would like to ask $5,200. If you do not like my number, please PM me with yours. I have always believed in discounts for multiple purchases and if someone wants all three, that saves me a bit of work and I would be open to even further discounts. As I mentioned, would love these to go to a good collector home.
I will also work to get better shots in shade. I thought showing them in the light would be more accurate and I am certainly not trying to hide anything.
