I DON’T KNOW IF THERE IS SUCH A THING BUT IF THERE IS I WOULD LIKE A CLEANING ROD FOR A MOD. 94 AS I HAVE A RIFLE WITH A TRAP DOOR BUTT PLATE. MAYBE ONE OF THE EXPERTS CAN TELL ME WHAT TO LOOK FOR. THANX IN ADVANCE

What caliber is the gun with the butt plate with the cleaning rod door? If its 38 caliber, they probable used the 73 cleaning rods. If its smaller than that they would of been special made. Does it letter with the trap door or is it beyond the letterable range?

Another thing when typing on the internet, use small letters. Its easier to read and large letters means your SCREAMING on the internet. As to posting pictures, read this if you haven’t already.

If you post some pictures of the butt plate and how it fits to the gun would help to tell if its original or not.

Winchester did not make “string” cleaners back in the day. If it was equipped with a factory trapdoor, it would have included a sectional cleaning rod.

Iwas at the antique arms show in Louisville Ky. on the weekend  and lo and behold there was a 94 there in 30 cal., 26″ bbl. with a 31/2″ drop in the pistol grip stock , it had a trapdoor cres. buttplate with the 5 piece cleaning rod inside. How incredible is that?

Henry,

That sounds like a really nice rifle, with some rare options.  Wish I could’ve gone to the Louisville show. maybe next year.
