I don’t recall ever seeing an ELW with rifle butt. The data Bert supplied explains why.
I “think” I saw one years/decades ago and thought I have since seen at least 50 with a shotgun butt—hence, my observations. I cannot even recall if this one I saw was a true .45-70 ELW rifle with a 22” barrel. Odds are, it probably was a .33 WCF with a 24” barrel.
There were a substantial number of the 33 WCF rifles that were manufactured with a crescent (rifle) butt. Based on the current survey results, these are the numbers for the 33 WCF rifles;
Crescent (Rifle) = 228 (18.28%)
Checkered Steel = 119 (9.54%)
Hard Rubber = 844 (67.7%)
Solid Red Rubber – 8 (.064%)
Steel (smooth) – 7 (.056%)
Swiss – 1 (.008%)
Total – 1,247

Any Idea how many ELW’s in 33 were made? Still looking for a real one.

I have (8) documented thus far. I have no idea how many were manufactured in total.

Just wondering how many ELW rifles were made with a full magazine? It is my understanding, the full magazine was available but had to be so ordered or a half magazine would be used.
Of the (321) ELW rifles in my research survey with confirmed magazine lengths, they numbers are as follows:
½ = 232 (72.2%)
⅔ = 15 (4.7%)
¾ = 9 (2.8%
Full = 65 (20.2%)
