gene,
I am very aware of you’re pursuit in this as we’ve discussed in the past and can understand you’re posting this here on the general forum. You’ve been searching for a spare or extra M-1866 bolt with the Center Fire conversion intact that has proven over the years to be as rare as the old proverbial “Hens Teeth”, comparison.
Possibly if a member has one of the original 1,020 M-1866 Winchesters that we’re sent to Brazil in 1891, they can help out with you’re request in getting numbers with pictures, so you can find a machinist to help you duplicate a bolt that you are having a hard time finding.
A few M-1866 we’re and are converted from the .44 Henry Flat cartridge to the .44 Center Fire cartridge conversion you are seeking, using the original bolt, which IMO, would surly be a lot less challenging and work to accomplish!
Good Luck in you’re search.
Tony
