I have found a very clean 1886 Winchester Lightweight Takedown in 45-90 with a Nickel Steel Barrel.  Very interested in the gun, however, as I am sure all are acutely aware, 45-90 ammo online, much less 45-90 smokeless ammo is very tough to find.

Does anyone have a reliable source for 45-90 Winchester Smokeless ammo?

Do you want to fire your .45-90 rifle accurately or just fire it?  If the latter, .45-70 will work.

If you shoot 45-70 in your gun you need to shoot bullets no heavier than 300 grain.  The heavier bullets, like the 405 grain, will not stabilize as well.

To me, this is a desirable variation – particular so in the .45-90.  The .45-90 was not a standard chambering for this this rifle.
