Welcome to a great resource of Winchester Collectors and members, with the vast shared knowledge and opinions. With that said maybe a member will come along and help you with what you’re looking for as I’m sure you’ve searched the net and maybe wound up here through some advice of a fellow member.
The 95 flat side is a hard one to come across in any condition. IMO, but I’m not saying that you can’t find one or won’t!

Start your 1895 collection by obtaining a copy of Rob Kassab and Brad Dunbar’s book. Also check out the August Rock Island auction. There is a beautiful 38-72 with more special features than I have seen, a 40-72 that is a little more down to earth and a musket that belongs in my collection!

I second the suggestion on obtaining the 1895 Book by two very prominent members who truly put together a tremendous Winchester Model 1895 book for the collector who want to know more than just admiring them from afar.
Good point on being patient!
We look forward to you adding pictures and comments also.

Barry,
Lot number #49, in the August RIA, has a flat side that’s one of the original 5000 mfg. that you might want to take a peak at.

Tony’s suggestion of lot #49 is a fine suggestion but I think lot #29 would be the better collector rifle:

I’m glad that Steve added the Link to the post.
Not sure what you’re budget is or what you’re thinking, so the one I posted, #49 would be on the lower side as a decent representative, with less upside. Many serious collectors wouldn’t touch it.
The one Steve posted, #29 would be on the higher end of that spectrum and definitely a lot more desirable. With a lot more upside. IMO!
Interested in hearing how you wind up or decide what you want or find!
