1873 Winchester in 38 WCF for sale. Letter from the Cody museum shows this rifle started life as a 24” standard. But at some point the barrel was cut down to 20”. It must’ve been quite some time ago as the muzzle end matches the rest of the patina.

Bore is strong and bright. Hard to photograph but will make an attempt for interested buyers.

Wood is in good shape and fits tightly. No slop in either the buttstock or forend.

Rifle is functional and was test fired with 10 rds of light cowboy loads to verify. Off hand at 30 yards it was stacking holes.
