My 1894 came with this rear tang sight. I believe it is a Lyman.

This sight is supposed to have a two position aperture. The insert that flips up and down is missing.

Can this tiny piece be sources separately?

Does this sight have any collector value in its current condition?

I’m thinking about threading the ID and screwing in an eye cup type aperture……

The sight does have value as is but I would watch ebay for a stem.  They do show up once in a while or a whole sight that has been badly cut up might go cheap.  I don’t recall seeing anyone just selling just the flip aperture.

I checked Ebay and these sights in good order are demanding very high prices. I was surprised how many were available and the bidding prices. I’ll keep my eyes open.

A few of the guys who have been selling sights on the gun show circuit have a number of partial sights and parts.  I would find one of them at a show or if you want, send me a PM and I’ll locate some phone numbers or emails in the next day or so.  Some of them sell on ebay also and you could try sending them a message there.
