Hi Erin,
What vintage Model 1910? In 1940 the standard rear sights were either a 22C or 22E and the front sight was a 21J (which differed from the 05 and 07 rear 21E) or the Lyman #3 Gold Bead.
If you give me the date of your rifle I can verify the correct sights for your vintage.

The standard 1910 with sporting sights came with the 22C rear and 21J front from 1910 through at least 1918.
Hope that helps.

Rehashing this old discussion, as Jeff has given me a headache. Do I assume correctly that the above post by Jeff has “front” and “rear” incorrectly interchanged? 22 series front sights?

In this post 22C should be 21C know?
I am trying to find the front / rear sight configs ( excluding optional) for the 1905, 1907 and 1910 WSLs. Stroebel’s book seems to conflict with various information gathered from other sources.
Any help? THX
Hi Steve,
Yes, I had them reversed. The REAR should be the 22C. Sorry for the confusion. The sight information came out of the Winchester Sight Book factory drawings. The front is listed in the beginning of the book as a Lyman #3 Gold Bead for the later production rifles.
I will go back and correct my error so no one else gets the wrong info. Thanks for catching that!
To answer your other question, the sight drawings show the Model 1905 (.32 & .35 cal.) with the 22C rear and either the 21D or 21E front (depending upon the vintage).
The Model 1907 (standard config.) lists the 22C rear and either the Lyman #3 gold bead or 21E front (depending upon the vintage) and the Model 1907 Police lists the 100A rear sight and the blade front on a bayonet mount.

Hi Steve, yup, I have a hard time with the numbers also, even when they are right in front of me.
According to the drawing, the 22J rear sight was established by Product Notice #1696 dated July 30, 1934 so if it was offered as an option on the 1907 (or as standard) it would have to be sometime after that 1934 date.
For the first year (1907) until Feb. 13, 1914 (C/P date) the 22C had the “V” notch, after that they were changed to a “U” notch per C/P) #2997.
