If there are two guys with “mint” Winchesters, that “letter” & need that exact sight… instant insanity… easily $500+ reasoning? Just try to find another mint Lyman #5! When it’s all said and done, it will add double that to the value of the rifle. Guys with those rifles are not afraid to drop money, especially if they really need it. Boy do I like to “reel them in” 🙂

Actually installing the sight negates the rarity of the sight still remaining in its original packaging, so I hope some sight collector, & not a fat-cat such as you describe, winds up with it.

I don’t sell on ebay…or any other online auctions. My pricing is fair for items offered and condition always predicates price. I willingly pay more to get what a customer has requested. I think we can all agree that a specific sight significantly increase the value of the rifle needing it. I travel 1000’s of miles a year, spend significant $$$ to set up at shows… but I still get a great deal of satisfaction when a sight/part completes someones rifle. I have many repeat, very knowledgeable customers that understand the service I provide. You could say I do “catch & release”. PS. I’m not offended by your comment… just trying to give context to what I do…
For Jeremy still looking for a nice M1906, the nicest one I own has a Lyman #5 front sight and a Lyman tang sight. May have come that way. The rear sight slot is plugged by a genuine Winchester plug. 2nd most highest I paid for a M1906. Actually a few bucks less then my stainless steel M1906. Big Larry

I am still looking Larry (you remembered! ), have had a couple on the hook but those fish got away. That one is definitely nice!
I love those combo sights on any gun…I have a couple guns that have the goldwash Beach combo sights.

Ben……No offense intended or felt here either. I commented, with tongue planted firmly in cheek, simply because I am one of your recent upstream swimmers and, BTW, quite happy that you had what I needed. Maybe I should have included a “smiley face” emoji……my bad.
Best,
Tom
Hi Tom… understood. you would be surprised how many people are startled to find that I actually have what they’ve been looking for for years, only to balk at paying a fair price, that is often under what the item would sell for online… There are those that are “frugal”, I get that…. but then there are those that are just downright “cheap”… they are put on a list (it’s very short) and I don’t put any effort to finding/locating items for them going forward. Not worth my time or effort… for those that are serious about finding something, I do try to locate items. I get great enjoyment “putting things right” ie: that 1906 rifle in the 22 section… I’ve “invested” way too much time, effort & money to see that project come together… and I don’t even own the rifle yet and most likely never will. I hope you can make it to Cody, would enjoy meeting face to face. You could have saved $5. on shipping! Cheers…

Being the “parts pirate” that I am, I do have several Lyman WS tang sights for when you do find your nice 1906! 🙂
If that was for me, I’ll definitely jot that down! 🙂
If you don’t find a nice M1906 at the show, we’ll talk about one of mine. No, not the early 22 short. My Grandson bought me 500 rds. of 22 short for Dads day. I have a couple I will part with that are way nicer than the junk floating around. Mind you, they are not mint. Very few are. Take advantage of the sight that Ben has. Sometimes very hard to find. Only two of mime have the correct Lyman sights. Here’s a pic of one I may sell. Big Larry
