Gentlemen, I am posting this for another member who had just joined. He is wondering if anyone can identify the rear sight. It is a flat top sight, but it has a flip up peep, as you can see in the two photos here.

Can’t say for sure by the photos but it looks like a Daniel’s Patent Concentric sight, made by Chas. Daniel, Melbourne Wash.  I had one on a gun a few years ago but thought it was marked.

It looks like a standard Winchester sporting rear sight and someone has modified the back and added a folding leaf with a peep.  I think I can see a pin for the hinge going into the side of the rear sight.  I’m not familiar with who would have done it or if Winchester would have tried that ever.  I do see quite a few different sight modifications turn up, but I haven’t seen this one yet.

Some better pictures would help to see if the work is factory or after market but my first impression is it was after market work.
