I took on a project a while back to restore,(correctly), a nice 1942 vintage M75 Target Rifle. First off I needed a Lyman 58-E rear sight. Got one from my BIL at no charge. Then I found out I needed a special height front sight base. A Lyman marked # 77 very high base to install a Lyman M77 front sight. Got that at auction last night. I had to have the screws for the M58-E special made as it did not come with them and they are a different size than my other M58-E. It’s coming together at a total cost of $575, about what it is worth. There are many M75’s out there and next up will be a M75 with the original 8X scope. I still do not know if the bbl. has the slot cut for a front sight? No one seems to know. Any info appreciated. Thanks, Big LarryWink

Just in case anyone wants to know, the bbl. slot was filled with a blank as referenced in a M75 ad. The rear sight screw holes were plugged with blind screws and there was no cut in the stock for a rear sight. Wow, the stuff you find out when you research.  Big LarrySmileSmileSmile
