Newbie to the forum here.
I recently acquired an 1885 low wall “winder musket” with a Lyman no. 53 rear sight. The rear peep is missing.
Any thoughts for a source for the part?
Or the specification for the part so it could be 3D printed?
Thanks,
EDIT: From Lyman customer support: “The thread size for all of our aperture sights is 7/32, so these replacement sight discs here should work for you- https://www.lymanproducts.com/2-tang-sight-apertures ”

If you are just missing the peep aperture, they are relatively easy to find. The correct size has an OD of 1/2″.

Lyman customer service replied to my request – all aperture sights are 7/32 and they have replacements on their site.

Surprised they’re that cheap! If you’re going to shoot the rifle, buy the largest size aperture. (Unless you have the vision of a 20-something!)
