Picked up a sight at the Phoenix show this past weekend that I’m trying to identify… it was on a Win. 92 carbine barrel (barrel was cut short, holes bored in it, bore was pitted beyond belief & basically useless…).. but the sight caught my eye… so I paid the asking price.  I remembered the page in the Madis sight book.. I also saw a Spencer carbine later at the show, with the exact same sight… so, was it actually used by both companies or ????

Well the flat spring looks different to the ones I’ve had on Win. ’66 rifles and ’76 muskets. The Winchesters I’ve had the spring had kinda’ rounded corners

Ben,

I have one of those musket sights and it has the square end springs but the markings don’t match up to the one you have.

I’m come the the conclusion that my sight is a Spencer Carbine sight…  not a grand slam, but worth more than the $20. spent.  😉
