OfflineM1886 oct. bbl. 40-65 shipped in 1890. Would the M21 front sight have a screw or no? The books are quite unclear as to the correct type. Currently, it has a Lyman #5, and I have sent for a letter. If the #5 is not listed, I plan to put an original #21 back on this rifle. Just need to know which is correct. Lots of these on Ebay right now. With and without screw. Thanks Brad. Big Larry

OfflineHi Larry
I can only guess that it did not have a screw in 1890. I don’t really study the sights too much before the Model 1894 and 1895 however, so it is only a guess. Someone else probably has a better idea.
