New member – first post:

I have a 1955 Winchester Model 1894 .30 30 carbine, and my front sight appears to be slightly bent to the left (no hood).  The sight sits on a ramp and measures (approx.) 1/4″ high, 11/16″ long, 5/16″ wide, 3/8″ dovetail; with a silver bead.  (I assume it is original to the gun but I do not know.)

I’d like to keep the gun original to 1955.

Does any know what front sight, and what front sight hood, were factory original to the gun in 1955 – i.e., dimensions?

Any suggestions where I might purchase an original Winchester front sight and a hood (other than ebay)? Thank you.

Winchester used the same front sight and hood on their Model 94 Carbines from 1932 through at least the late 1960s.  Try Numrich – https://www.gunpartscorp.com/
