OfflineSomeone I know has an 1892 rifle with sporting rear sight. The screw is still there, but the small sliding elevation adjustment piece in the back face of the sight is gone (not the step elevator). I havent been able to find an original part or anyone making replacements. Anyone have a source?
I have a picture, but am not seeing a way to add an attachment.

OfflineCheck the sight for a crack right in the middle which is the thin spot. This is the prime reason the insert falls out. If its cracked then replacing the insert will be short lived. Your best bet to find one is to buy a broken sight that still has one or make one.
