Hi all,

What would the proper sight set up be for an 1886 TD in 33 Winchester manufactured in 1921? Mine has a marbles tang but the front sight they installed doesn't fit the dovetail at all...it also has no rear sight.

Thanks

A Lyman #4 Hunting front sight and a 24A rear sight would be correct.

Hello Travis,

Would you be interested in participating in the Model 1886 research survey?  The survey is documenting all of the late production Model 1886 Rifles & Carbines (those with a serial number > 145999).

The survey is in progress (not published yet).  If you can do so, send me an email message with the serial number, and a few pictures showing the configuration of the rifle.  Information about the various research surveys can be found here - https://winchestercollector.org/forum/winchester-research-surveys/  and https://winchestercollector.org/forum/winchester-research-surveys/winchester-1886-survey/

Travis,

Here are the sights on an 86 TD in 33WCF (SN 157741) made in 1920 as an example.  Couldnt tell you what sight numbers correspond to the sights.  The front sight I think is a Marble/Sheard.
