I that case how rare is a roll matted ribbed barrel?
Thank You, Bill
Factory roll matted barrels were very common on the Model 1897 Fancy, Trap, Tournament, and Pigeon grade guns. Relatively few Standard (Field) grade guns were special ordered with a roll matted barrel, but they do exist. I have one gun in my collection (s/n 666981) that is a standard grade with a 30-inch Full choke factory matted barrel.
