I have a Model 42  that appears to be a field grade with a straight stock; fancy wood; checkered stock and forearm.  The forearm is the short 7 3/8"  version. It has a 26" full choke plain barrel. Based on the serial number it  was made in 1956.

Is this a field grade with special order features? or is it some other grade.

Thanks,  Dick
