OfflineWhat are every ones thoughts on this Model 12 28 gauge?

OfflineHere’s another 28 gauge from the same seller. At least with this one he specifies it is, “the real deal.” He did not say that about the NIB 28 gauge
There’s also a pretty fancy NIB M42:

Well at least on this ad, he does show the indentation on the magazine tube.Interesting that he says this is the real deal on this post, but not on the other ad.
Would be interesting to see more of the clues we look for, to tell a fake.:)

The 28ga skeet # 1352064 with case looks ok albeit the wood is messed with. Given the crap this seller is peddling, you’d want to look over that gun very carefully. The 42 with box # 130214 is fake as a 4 dollar bill.
Austin is this the one you are talking about?
if so, can you help educate those of us who lack your knowledge to know what you are seeing that let you know this is fake? Thanks just trying to learn!

OnlineHopefully the prospective buyer is requesting more pics. Pics in the listing look good to me but apparently some better trained eyes have seen some issues. I wonder what a legit gun like this could go for?

I am late to this thread but it bothers me there is no photo of the face of the receiver, which should bear a stamp indicating the gauge, in this case the numerals “28″ — and the upper loop of the “8” should not be higher than the “2” nor should it be different in size than the lower loop. If you guess why is lots of 20 gauge receivers get converted, you win the cigar.

Winchester never marked a gun “DELUXE” nor did they ever use that term.
Looking at that gun and the box, it looks very much like the fake crap that SDOG was peddling a few years ago.

Thanks Bert, looking at the box I now notice those words appear to be added by a “stamp” and are not part of the original label. Thus, am I correct in believing at a minimum someone has replaced the stock on this making it no longer a factory original?

The entire gun has been reworked & refinished. Nothing about it is “original”.
