Coming up for auction at Poulin:

Lot number 2182
The factory documentation of the features is surely a plus. Pretty attractive piece from what I can see. And I’m not a big shotgun guy.
Bert – did you have this one in your survey?
By the way, lot number 2183 is a M1897 Pigeon Grade.

Where is the Factory Letter?
They quote the letter. It would be nice if they had shown a photo of it. The other question to ponder is that the piece has been refinished. They speculate factory work – which is of course possible given there is an R&R. This reminds me of the many conversations we have had about what an R&R notation might mean. If a person were seriously interested, a call to the BBHC would be in order. It’s unfortunate the, “extra stock” referred to in the factory records (needs to be verified) appears long gone. Not surprising but it is rare that a shotgun is shipped with not only an extra barrel assembly but also an extra stock.

The last picture in the auction lot is of the Cody “quick search” email / letter that they send you before buying a full fledged notarized Cody letter.
Most interesting 97 indeed.
Sincerely,
Maverick
