Bert, another question regarding serial numbers… I have a Winchester Defender, serial #L1968030, but there is no model number indicated. I would like a larger magazine but I don’t know if it is a model 1200 or 1300. Any idea?

The serial number on your gun indicates that it is a Model 1300, manufactured in the year 1986. That stated, I believe that the Model 1200 and Model 1300 used the same magazine tubes.

Bert, thank you so much for your help. I tried to find this information elsewhere, but no luck. I was really surprised that the model was not stamped on the barrel with the other information.
