Hello all, I was referred here by Winchester’s customer support.

My wife inherited this gorgeous Winchester 101 single barrel shotgun.

Its serial # is K169020  32″ barrel, 2 3/4″

Can someone give me any information about it? What year is it?

Hello,

The Winchester Model 101 is an Over/Under (O/U) shotgun, with twin barrels. The “K” prefix on the serial number indicates that it was manufactured sometime after 1967. To the best of my knowledge, there are no records for the Model 101 shotguns that were built in Japan.

Thanks Bert,

This one is a single barrel 32″. I can’t find anything online for sale that has single barrels too. It does say Winchester 101 2 3/4″ on the barrel.

Winchester did make a few single barrel “TRAP” model 101s.  They also produced multi-barrel sets with different chokes for different types of shooting.  During the earlier production the chokes were “fixed” and later Winchester added the interchangeable screw in chokes. Once the chokes were interchangeable there was no need for extra barrels to shoot either skeet or trap.  The 32″ barrel suggests a trap gun and not a skeet gun.  Hope this helps.
