Hey everybody, today my dad gave me an old Winchester Model 1912 12 gauge that he was given and has been in my family a very long time. The serial number (175435) seems to put it at around 1918?! He thought it was maybe made in the 40s. Anyway, everything on it is in working order except the buttstock, which is busted in a couple different ways. So I need to get a new one, can anyone suggest a good place to get one? It looks like a pretty standard furniture setup, and is very very dark wood. Not sure what I’m dealing with here, but I would hate to buy a replacement stock that’s different from the original

Hello Marc,

It was manufactured in May, 1917. You will need to find a used stock from that same general production period. I suggest searching on ebay, as it is common venue for people who part out and sell old parts.

Alright thank you for the reply. I had looked around on ebay, but there are so many different styles and finishes I didn’t know what to look for. So I’ll try to find one from the same period. Thanks again
