For $20,000 I will sell mine. Close to mint, and no surprises. With mine you get a Winchester M1917 bayonet, minty M1907 sling, minty WW2 shotgun shell pouch, sealed box of WW2 00 Buck paper shells, and a sealed box of 25 WW2 brass 00 Buck. Just kidding. It is not for sale. Grandson wants it. Big Larry
In the end, two “NR” (likely shill bidders) pushed the price tag to way beyond a sane value. I have to wonder when we will see it relisted again.
Larry… you really do need to consider selling your Trench Gun as it might turn out to be worth its weight in GOLD!!!

I have some gold my wife bought me back in the late 60’s. A minty $20 liberty head. She paid $60 for it back then. This Trenchgun I have, I paid a whopping $3,000 for a couple years back. It belonged to a friend with 2 of them. He insisted on giving me the gun, but settled on what he had paid for it many years ago. I bought all the accoutrements from our Rick Hill, except for the minty M1917 Winchester bayonet. Nice ones are very hard to find, and very expensive now. The shotgun goes nicely with my WIN-13 Garand. My Grandkids will like them. Big Larry
It would seem to me that if this “Real Deal” Trench Gun was all legit that the seller wouldn’t have had to post his tirade. But for that kind of pricing, I’d be pretty darn sure it was legit. This is way above my pay grade, but for a refinished gun the reblueing job wasn’t very impressive, and it appears that this 97 was in poor shape before refinishing.

It’s getting to point for me that when someone asks me I think their gun is worth, my response is to ask: to who – a buyer or a shill bidder? Because there seem to be more shill bidders out there than buyers.
Ditto !!
I have to wonder if “apmiller” with an “NR” rating on Gunbroker is a real buyer, or is just a “Shill” pseudonym. We will have our answer if/when the gun gets relisted.
