Took my dads model 42 out and gave it a try on some sporting clays. Dad never used the gun, he bought it from a friend. I was cleaning it up and decided to take off the buttplate. Curled up inside was the bill of sale from Sears and Roebuck along with a hunting and fishing license from 1939.
it cost $32.06 and was paid $7.00 down and $6.00 a month after.
ill post a pic when I figure out how to do it.
I don’t have the add files or upload attachments button. Is this a iPad problem or am I just missing something?
Also, what are field grade model 42s going for these days. This one has a full choke and nothing fancy.

Sounds like a very interesting and nice model 42. I believe you need to be a paid WACA member to upload pictures. I don’t know a whole lot about the model 42, but the value will be based on the condition of the gun. I can post pictures for you if you would like to email the files to me at [email protected].

I am a paid member. I did just join though so maybe it takes a bit.
from what I see of the gun and how you describe it with the original receipt and hunting lic……..I guess you could get around $1500/1700….. Nice pre war 42
