Hello the Fire,

Well here goes.

Is there anyone that knows much about the Model 40 Semi Auto Shotgun? The reason I ask is I would like some information on putting this one back together

(seems a lot like the 1911). Can’t find much info on this long forgotten Winchester shotgun any HELP with this project will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Again Thank You,

cba

It is my understanding that the Model 40 was very short lived (less than 12,000 manufactured) due to mechanical issues with the action. Winchester discontinued it after less than 24-months of production, and offered a quasi recall on all of them that had been sold. Frankly, I believe that you are going to find it very difficult trying to find the parts needed to put it back together.
