I am unable to enlarge the photos with out loosing clarity. From what I can make out it appears to be all correct for a 1950’s vintage gun. Steel grip cap and solid rubber Winchester pad. Vent rib trap? Be advised, these guns can become addictive! Just one and then another and then………! I now have 16 and the last one was a nice solid rib, but a bit rusty and had an ugly aftermarket pad. I just had to rescue it. Like finding a dirty puppy wandering around. RDB
According to the “The Model 12” book by Dave Riffle the metal grip cap was introduced about 1952. The buyer had a choice of the plastic logo cap or the plain steel cap. Pictured on page 145. I have to give credit to this book for almost any knowledge I have concerning the Model 12. My “go to” book if I want an answer. If you want to know about the Model 12 look there first. Very nice Model 12 you pictured! Thanks for sharing. RDB
