Hello,
I recently acquired a Model 12, 16ga with serial number 379119 dates to 1924. It is stamped on barrel “Mod 12-16ga Full”
Can I shoot 2 3/4″ inch shells safely?

Hello Terry,
No, you cannot. Your 1924 production Model 12 16-ga was factory chambered for a 2-9/16″ maximum length shell. That stated, many of them were later opened up to safely shoot a 2-3/4″ shell. I recommend having it measured to determine if it still has its original chamber length or if it has been opened (reamed) to accept the longer shell length.

Do as Bert says or buy some 2-1/2″ ammo instead.
Kent and RST both sell it. Probably others too.
