What would you expect an early Model 1912 with a 3 digit serial number to be worth?

Looks to be original stock.  not much bluing remains on the receiver with light oxidation, barrel and magazine shows 50-60% bluing remaining but several areas of thinning, liking has been reblued at some point.  Bore shows light oxidation.  Plenty of handling marks on wood buttstock.

Thanks

You have not provided enough information for any of us to assess the value.

I will assume that it is a 20-Ga, but what is the barrel length and the choke marking?  If it is indeed a 20-ga, does it have an unaltered 2.5″ chamber or has it been opened up to 2.75″ ?  Original black hard rubber butt plate or a recoil pad?

It was on a local auction, and was listed as a 12 gauge, but I didn’t get to the auction house to inspect it and the pictures were terrible at best and didn’t have a picture of the barrel markings or the serial #, but listing said it was s/n 9XX.  Didn’t see the listing until yesterday and it sold last evening while I wasn’t available.  Looks like it had an original black butt plate and appears to have a 30″ barrel.  Was there even any 12 gauges built with that low of s/n?

thanks

Doug

I suspect that the listing was in error.  If the serial number was truly in the 900 – 999 range, it would have to be a 20-ga.

Perhaps, couple of pictures would further aid the guestimation.
