Here is the DPD guncard for my DPD shotgun. Not really sure where the gun was other then #13 precinct until 1968. It is also believed to have been at Harbor Master Bureau from 1983 until it was sold since it is tagged on the bottom of stock HMB. But you never know with Detroit.

Interesting!  it makes me wonder where the gun was from February 1944 – May 1965 though.

I spent some time in a large PD’s range vault quite a few years ago. Some departments store “obsolete” weapons and never dispose of them.

There was a contract made in Sept. 1943 for 200 Model 97 trench guns for the Detroit Police Dept.   There may have been other contracts, but I am not aware of them.  I’ve only seen a couple of these DPD marked trench guns over the years and neither had any martial markings.  I know one had the plugged front sight hole same as found on the late made Model 97 trench guns for the military.
