I broke the butt plate on my model 12 16 gauge today, I want to replace it with a very thin recoil pad,, any idea’s

Replacing the factory Buttplate with a pad might result in having new holes drilled in the buttstock for fitting, and should your shotgun be all factory original, this will be a detriment to it’s resell value.
