I’m not saying anything to her!!!  But after I get the new hose she can help me with the install.  The dryer has a built in cabinet on one side and the hot water heater on the other.  I built her another cabinet that sticks out from the front of the hot water heater for her laundry area.  She uses this cabinet to store junk and not one thing for laundry.  So I will have to slide this one cabinet out of the way first.  Oh did I say that she has used pieces of carpet to cover the floor around all of this?  If I empty the cabinet I might be able to slide it out.  Or maybe I can rig a come a long to help?  In the meantime she has to open the permanent cabinet door when she runs the dryer so the lint can go somewhere.  This cabinet is full of ammo and a lot of other gun related stuff. Yell

And I ran out of Tru Oil and will have to go get some.

Chuck absolutely avoid the old plastic collapsible dryer vent tubing when redoing that vent. Use smooth steel vent tubing. You won’t need to disassemble to clean it out again. Make sure the outer floppy door can be removed for cleaning the vent. A smooth vent is easy to clean out without disassembly. The old collapsable plastic vents are the primary reason that dryer vents are a fire hazard.

Great idea.  But I would have to find some bends too.  I’ll have to give it some thought.  Outside vent is not the problem.  Nor is the bend at the dryer.   Just been too lazy to move all the obstacles to do the job.

Preformed 90 degree and 45 degree bends available easy peasy. Quite similar to wood stove vent pipe, far lighter gauge, the usual home improvement store suspects will have it. Do get rid of that old corrugated plastic hose if you have it. That stuff is a known fire hazard and no longer sold at all. The smooth metal vent is the way to go and usually makes it cleanable without tearing things apart. In my experience the need for cleaning is mostly eliminated when the vent is done right.
